Basic S.W.A.T. Special Weapons and Tactics



This 40 hour Missouri POST certified course is designed for the new operator or as a refresher course for the current operator. Physical Requirements The student must possess the physical strength and stamina to repetitively manipulate their weapon during prolonged training, in all weather conditions. The student must be able to get up and down from standing, kneeling, and prone positions, as well as move forward, backward, and laterally. A student's level of physical fitness can be a direct reflection to how much or little they learn. Training Tempo Students attending this course should be proficient with their weapon system before attending. Students need to keep an open mind and be willing to look at and analyze new techniques, tactics, and procedures. We believe in giving the student numerous techniques and tools for the student to have at his/her disposal, in order that they may apply them to their particular needs.


Proper movement towards the target area Identify the main areas of threat upon approach and at the target area Demonstrate proper breaching techniques and team positions during breaching Proper team entry and movement for Dynamic and Deliberate entries Identify threat and no threat targets Armed and Barricaded Important information for the debrief after the mission Mission brief for a high risk warrant service Case law related to high risk search warrants	EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS Ballistic Helmet (if issued) Tactical Body Armor Carbine or Sub-Gun with four (3-4) mags Pistol with three (3) mags Weapon mounted lights (preferred) and/or handheld lights Spare batteries for all sights and lights. 350 rounds for rifle weapon system (NO ARMOR PIERCING OR GREEN TIP) 150 rounds for handgun Bring all assigned S.W.A.T. Call-Out equipment to include radio and gas masks. Gloves, Cap, Knee Pads, Snacks, Bug Spray, Water Weather appropriate clothing Ballistic Eye Protection / Ear Protection (electronic preferred) Notebook and Pen ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT (OPTIONAL) Ballistic Shield Breaching equipment: ram, halligan pry tool, breaching shotgun, saw. 37MM or 40MM launcher Less lethal shotgun PepperBall gun. (No Pepperballs necessary) Drone Night vision goggles NVG's Mirrors or PoleCamera Fold out Chair for down time
